Follow these simple steps before, during, and after your visit to prepare for your checkup and help ensure reliable results.

Before your test

  • Fast for 10–12 hours before if instructed.
  • Continue regular medication unless your doctor advises otherwise. You may need to avoid supplements and multivitamins.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and strenuous exercise on the morning of your appointment.
  • Inform our team if you are menstruating on the day of the checkup, pregnant, or have a suspected pregnancy.
  • Keep all metal items and jewellery at home before your checkup
  • For PAP smear, avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, and using vaginal medicines or spermicidal products for 48 hours before your checkup

During your test

  • Arrive 10 minutes early with photo ID, previous reports, and a list of medicines and supplements, if any.
  • Wear comfortable clothing, and skip using deodorant, powder, and lotion.
  • Bring urine and stool samples in sterile containers and submit them within the recommended time frame, preferably in the morning.
  • For ‘blood sugar postprandial,’ your blood sample will be collected exactly 2 hours after your first bite of breakfast.
  • You may need to drink water before an ultrasound to fill your bladder.
  • Tell the team about possible pregnancy, kidney problems, or allergies before scans involving radiation or contrast agents.
  • If gynaecology consultation is included, discuss menstrual changes, reproductive health, pregnancy or menopause concerns.

After your test

  • Our doctors will explain your results and next steps, based on the consultations in your package.
  • Most lab results from your women's health checkup are available the same day, while some may take longer.
  • Stay hydrated, rest as needed, and follow our doctor’s advice on resuming daily activities.
  • If any results need further assessment, our doctors may recommend additional tests at an extra cost.

What is the difference between the Core and Prime women's health checkup package?

The Core package covers essential screening tests for the selected age group, while Prime includes a wider range of tests and investigations for a more detailed health assessment. The right choice depends on your age, medical history and health concerns.

How often should you undergo a health checkup for women?

Some women may benefit from a yearly review, while others need a different schedule. Screening varies by test, age, and risk. Cervical screening is generally advised from age 30, and mammography from age 40.

Can I have my women's health checkup during menstruation?

Some tests can be done during menstruation, but others, such as Pap smear and urine tests, may need to be scheduled for another day.

How long does a health checkup for women at Wockhardt Hospitals take?

The duration of your women's health checkup depends on the package, tests included and doctor availability. Plan for a few hours for your appointment. For example, if your package includes a post-meal blood sugar test, you may need to wait two hours after eating before the second blood sample is collected.

Can I undergo a women's health checkup if I am pregnant or may be pregnant?

Inform the Wockhardt Hospitals team before your appointment if you are pregnant or think you may be. Some tests, including X-rays, CT scans and DEXA scans, may need to be avoided or postponed. Our doctor will advise which tests are appropriate during your pregnancy.

Do I need to fast before the appointment for a women's health checkup?

What happens if my women's health checkup result requires further investigation?

Our doctor will explain the results and recommend the next steps, which may include repeat tests, further investigations, treatment, or referral to a specialist. Additional tests or investigations, if required, may incur extra charges. An abnormal result does not always indicate a serious condition, but it is important to discuss it with our doctor.
