I Donate in Faith - Organ Donation Campaign

#IDonateInFaith : A Pledge of Compassion. A Promise of Life.

Faith teaches us compassion. Organ donation is compassion in action.
Make your faith count — pledge today.

There are thousands of people waiting for an organ that could save their life. Many of them never get the chance. But together, we can change that.

At Wockhardt Hospitals, we believe compassion has no boundaries — it unites every faith and every community. Through our #IDonateInFaith campaign, we invite you to take a step that reflects the best of what you believe in: giving life, even beyond your own.

Why Pledge?

When you pledge to donate your organs:

  • You give hope: One donor can save up to eight lives.
  • You inspire others: Your pledge can encourage friends, family, and community to follow your example.
  • You honour your faith: Every religion values kindness, compassion, and selfless giving. Organ donation is all of this — in action.

    Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Who can pledge to donate organs?

Any adult over the age of 18 can pledge to be an organ donor. If you are younger, you may still express your wish with parental or guardian consent.

What organs and tissues can be donated?

Organs such as the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas, and intestines can be donated. Tissues like corneas, skin, bones, heart valves, and tendons can also be donated to help others.

Does organ donation cost my family anything?

No. Organ and tissue donation does not cost the donor’s family anything. All medical costs related to the donation are borne by the recipient or the transplant system.

Does my religion allow organ donation?

Most religions consider organ donation a noble act of charity and kindness. If you have any doubts, speak to your religious leader for guidance.

What if my family disagrees with my wish?

Legally, your family’s consent is required at the time of donation. This is why it’s very important to discuss your pledge with your family in advance, so they can honour your wish when the time comes.

How does the donation process work after death?

When a registered donor passes away in circumstances where organ donation is possible, the hospital informs the nearest organ donation registry and seeks family consent. A team of specialists carefully retrieves the organs, which are then matched with patients on the waiting list.

    What is brain death?

Brain death occurs when there is a complete and irreversible loss of brain function, even if the heart is still beating with medical support. It is legally accepted as death in India and many other countries, and is one of the primary situations where organ donation is possible.

Can people with medical conditions donate

Certain illnesses may prevent donation of specific organs, but many people with controlled medical conditions can still donate tissues or other organs. Doctors will assess this on a case-by-case basis

What if I’m an organ recipient — can I still pledge?

Yes, but whether you can donate depends on your health and medical eligibility at the time of death. Even so, your pledge is a powerful message of solidarity and hope.

Can I withdraw my pledge later?

Yes, you can change your decision at any time. Organ donation is a voluntary choice, and your updated wishes will always be respected.

How does my pledge help patients?

Your organs can save multiple lives. For example, your heart can help a patient with end-stage heart failure, while your corneas can restore sight. Each organ or tissue can dramatically improve or save someone’s life.

How can I talk to my family about my decision?

Have an open and honest conversation. Explain why organ donation matters to you and how it aligns with your faith and values.

What can I do beyond pledging?

Share your story. Talk to your community. Encourage friends and family to pledge. Use #IDonateInFaith on social media and help break myths around organ donation.

Together, we pledge. Together, we save lives.
